I had an excellent learning and sharing session, with participants at recently held, UNDP and IBIN organized workshop on Effective Participatory Planning for Rural India.
What came up were issues of trust, collaboration, involvement of the community in planning processes, and best-case models from Governments and NGOs. We also discussed a methodology of Rural Empowerment through connectors at local levels.
It’s critical we have more such meetings and discussions, to not only discuss the issues, but to also find solutions, and fast. Because as Gandhiji once said “If the village perishes India will perish too. India will be no more India.”
